Where: Alden Gulch (42.741406, -114.567303)
When: Saturday July 9th 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Sandwiches from Hangar Bread to follow.
Difficulty: Moderate - starting work ½ mile up the trail
Project Description: All around maintenance work on the lower section of the trail. We will be working on redefining the hinge, removing slough and berm. There are a couple berms to touch up and drainages to clean. We will meet at the bottom of Alden Gulch Trail, go over safety, get PPE and walk to the project.
What to bring/wear: Closed toe/ankle supporting shoes and pants will be required. We recommend bringing your own eye protection/sunglasses, work gloves and sunscreen. A small pack is nice to have for water, layers and a snack.
What we will provide: Tools, required PPE available for use: hard hats, eye protection, gloves etc.
Directions: From Ketchum
Drive north on Highway 75 to Baker Creek Road (15.4 mi).
Turn left on Baker Creek Road and follow the main dirt road for 3.2 miles
low end of the trail on the left/south side of the road.
There is room to park a couple of vehicles near to the start of the ride, but parking is limited. There is room to park a few cars back at the intersection of Baker Creek Road and the East Fork Baker Creek Road. Also nearby is the Baker Creek Road Campground, which is basically an open area with several loosely defined campsites.
