WRTC is partnering with Soldier Mountain Ski Area and Southwest Idaho Mountain Bike Association (SWIMBA) to bring more lift- accessed mountain biking to southern Idaho! From “Green” beginner trails to “Black” expert trails, the goal is to offer gravity riding to a wide range of people. Soldier Mountain is hoping to finish these trails next month, and has asked for our help to complete the work over the weekend of July 18th and 19th.
This project is moving quickly with two trail building companies doing the major work, but we’ll need volunteers to hand finish these trails. WRTC and SWIMBA will each be able to bring in 15 volunteers for each day. As demand will be high, please make sure that you can commit to being present before signing up. If you wish to camp out and work both days please be sure to sign up for both days.
The work will consist primarily of raking and finishing trail tread with McLeods and Rogue Hoes. We’ll provide the tools! Volunteers will need long pants, sturdy boots, gloves, long sleeved shirts, and eye protection. We also strongly recommend bringing lots of water, snacks, sun hat and sunscreen!
Sign up for Saturday or Sunday, OR both days here.
