Ever been out on a mountain bike ride and all of a sudden there are large four-legged beasts with riders coming right towards you? You may have thought to yourself - "Crap! What do I do?! What should I do with my body? Do I get off my bike? Should I say something? Should I gather my posse of dogs? WHAT DO I DO WITH MY HANDS?!"
Join us for "Wheels and Hooves" - a horse and everything-else-that-moves interface clinic designed as an opportunity to learn and ask questions about how horses think and react - and plenty of horse petting. Knowing this information as a cyclist or other trail user can help facilitate safe, friendly, stress-free interactions on the trail - which, let's face it, is why we're all out here to begin with. Local equestrian instructors will offer real-life scenarios and examples of how we can all interact safely and in mutual respect for one another while recreating on the trails, contributing to a more cohesive recreational community across the Wood River Valley.
Workshop will take place at Greenhorn Trailhead, meet at 10am.
Bring your bike or hiking shoes to go out on the trails after the session!
