ABOUT THE PROJECT

A trail survey has not been conducted for the Wood River Valley trail system since 2012, leaving a major gap in understanding how many users are on our trails, how they use them and where they are from. These surveys are an important tool for developing forest management plans, volunteer programming, and, most notably, securing critical grant-funding for the WRTC and our partners.

In the Summer of 2021, WRTC, in partnership with the Ketchum Ranger District Trails Program and the Environmental Resource Center, conducted a summer trail use survey to better understand usership patterns and obtain up-to-date data on our valley’s hiking, biking, and riding trails.
