Upcoming Wood River Valley Trail Closures
In the Fall of 2021 the Wood River Trails Coalition, National Forest Foundation and Higher Ground partnered with the Ketchum Ranger District of the Sawtooth National Forest and contracted with Titus Trails to perform extensive maintenance on Forbidden Fruit and to build a mile-long extension. This extension is designed specifically for adaptive mountain bikers, but also provides a fun alternative from Eve’s for all riders.
Beginning September 26th, the project will continue with the parking lot improvements and new trail bridges. As recreational forest use has grown over the years, the trailhead at Adam’s Gulch reaches capacity nearly seven days a week. This project seeks to address this increase in use. Upgrades this fall include a reconfigured parking lot and improved vault toilet structure.
Adam’s Gulch trailhead will be closed beginning September 26th with a tentative reopening in November. The road will be closed to the public beyond the intersection of Adams Gulch Rd. and Old Mill Rd. All trails in Adam’s Gulch will remain open, unless it becomes unsafe for Titus Trails to do their work. For the most up-to-date trail information visit https://summertrailink.bcrd.org/.
ADDITIONAL TRAIL CLOSURES IN THE VALLEY
Starting September 6th Wolftone-Curran Trail #160 will be closed to convert the trail to an ATV trail. Ideally the trail will reopen by October 3rd for hunting season, but it may remain closed depending on project completion.
