Volunteers Brush Up Silver Lining for National Public Lands Day

“Last Saturday’s volunteer trail maintenance project was on Silver Lining Trail. It was led by Carith and Miles from WRTC with John Kurtz from the BLM. Our crew focused on raking loose rocks off the trail.

It was a chilly start, but the sun came out, and soon we were working in small groups, swapping stories and laughing while getting the trail into shape. Passing riders and hikers offered thanks, which always feels good. Afterward, we gathered at the trailhead for a delicious lunch provided by the Sawtooth Back Country Horsemen—another reminder of the great community behind our public lands.

For me, volunteering on trails is about camaraderie, giving back, and leaving with that satisfying feeling of a good day’s work on the places we all love.”

Huge thank you to volunteer, Chris Leman for that lovely recap of working on Silver Lining, and of capturing the community spirit that working on our trails brings.

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
