Kicking Off Volunteer Season on Hang Tight / Hang Loose
What a great way to start the season!
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our first general volunteer event of the year out on Hang Tight / Hang Loose. Eight amazing volunteers came out ready to work, spending the evening raking rocks off the first 1.2 miles of trail.
The dry conditions definitely kept things dusty—there was no shortage of dirt getting kicked up into faces as tools hit the tread—but this crew pushed through it all with great attitudes and plenty of energy.
Why all the raking? Trails like Hang Tight / Hang Loose are designed to be approachable and accessible for a wide range of users, including adaptive bike riders, newer trail users, families, and anyone looking for a smoother trail experience. Removing loose rock helps create a more comfortable and predictable surface, making the trail more welcoming for everyone.
It may seem like a small detail, but this kind of maintenance makes a huge difference in how people experience the trail.
We’re so grateful to the volunteers who came out to help care for one of the valley’s most-loved trail systems. Events like this are a reminder that strong trails come from strong community support—and we’re excited for many more volunteer days ahead this season.
