Trail Conditions Update 8/5/2022

8/5/2022 Trail Conditions Update

This week the WRTC staff escaped the office and cleared Norton Creek - Prairie Creek Trail from Prairie Creek Trailhead to the intersection of Norton-Miner, then up Norton-Miner to Miner Lake.

The Ketchum Ranger District (KRD) trail crew (see post from August 2nd to see they're wonderful faces!) finished clearing the user trail from lower Norton Lake to Big Lost Lake to Smoky Lake, did maintenance on Rooks Creek trail, Oregon Gulch, Taylor Canyon and installed signage at Meadow Creek. Give them a high five if you see them out there!

High winds have brought down lots of trees, check out Summer Trailink for the most up to date information.

A section of the Spring Creek trail remains closed until August 7th for resource protection and public safety due to northern goshawk nesting territory.

There are bands of sheep on the ridge-line north of Buttercup Mountain, near the high ends of Warfield and Red Warrior creeks, Fox Peak area, headwaters of Eagle Creek and a band is headed to Wilson Creek.
