WRTC TRAIL MONITORING PROGRAM JULY ROUND UP

The WRTC Trail Monitoring Program July Round Up is a representation of trail use across the Wood River Valley for the month of July. These totals represent the number of detections counters collected but not necessarily individual users (if someone were to travel and out and back on a trail they would be counted twice). In other words, the following data is a general representation of trail activity and not an exact count of trail users. Areas of no data on graphs indicate periods of time when the counters were not present.

In the month of July, the trail counter location with the most detections in a single day occurred on the main Greenhorn trail, with 308 detections occurring on July 3rd.

In the month of July, the top 5 locations with the highest daily averages for trail counter detections were:

  1. Main Greenhorn (175)

  2. Old Adams Road (135)

  3. Chocolate Gulch (106)

  4. Taylor Canyon (105)

  5. Imperial Gulch (82)

On average, bike traffic (motorized and non-motorized) on main Greenhorn made up 37% of all detected trail traffic in July, compared to 43% in June.

On average, bike traffic (motorized and non-motorized) on Old Adams Road made up 57% of all detected trail traffic in July, compared to 40% in June. Click here to view the data.
