Trail Work Begins on Toe of the Hill

Toe of the Hill Trail has been brushed and is ready for a summer of enjoyment!  This 2 miles of trail took a total of 160 hours from 6 staff to complete. Typically a 2 mile trail would not take this much time input, but Toe of the Hill hadn’t seen heavy brushing for many years and sorely needed it, as sage was taking over the trail.  

While big trail projects like Greenhorn are so exciting, and deserve a lot of attention, it is these smaller, annual maintenance projects that really keep our trail system amazing.  If you’ve ever walked Toe of the Hill and have ended the day with legs covered in scratches, you’ll be sure to notice the work our crew has done out there!

El sendero Toe of the Hill ha sido cepillado y está listo para disfrutar del verano.  Este sendero de 3,2 km ha necesitado un total de 160 horas de trabajo de 6 empleados. Por lo general, un sendero de 3,2 km no requeriría tanto tiempo, pero Toe of the Hill no se había cepillado en muchos años y lo necesitaba urgentemente, ya que la salvia se estaba apoderando del sendero.  

Aunque los grandes proyectos de senderos como Greenhorn son muy emocionantes y merecen mucha atención, son estos pequeños proyectos anuales de mantenimiento los que hacen que nuestro sistema de senderos siga siendo increíble.  Si alguna vez has caminado por Toe of the Hill y has acabado el día con las piernas llenas de arañazos, seguro que te habrás dado cuenta del trabajo que ha hecho nuestro equipo.
