Bike Team is Back at it - Polishing Greenhorn

We’re stoked to have the Wood River Mountain Bike Team back volunteering on the very trails they train on. Having them join us each fall has become one of our favorite ways to welcome the season—their enthusiasm, energy, and love for the trails is contagious.

So far, the crew has tackled raking on Silver Lining, and on September 9, 30 parents and students got after the Greenhorn re-route we completed last year. With any new trail construction, there’s always a period of heavy maintenance in the first few seasons while the trail settles.. The team showed up ready to put in the work and left a big impact.

Here’s what they accomplished:

  • Rock removal along the inside edge of the trail, clearing hazards and making the tread smoother for all users.

  • Slough clearing from the backslope, keeping the trail corridor stable and sustainable.

  • Vegetation trimming at stock crossings near the new bridges, improving visibility and making the trail safer for riders, hikers, and horses alike.

We couldn’t ask for a better group to take on this kind of maintenance. The WRMBT riders brought grit, teamwork, and plenty of good vibes—reminding us why volunteer-powered trail work is so special.

A huge thank you to the Wood River Mountain Bike Team for giving back to the trails that give us all so much. Here’s to many more fall evenings spent working side by side!
